Launched in 2013 in the United Kingdom, the Art Everywhere project presents art in public spaces by using billboards as free open-air galleries. This year, the initiative has been retaking in the United States by the Dallas Museum of Art in collaboration with the Whitney Museum of American Art, the National Gallery of Art in Washington, the Art Institute of Chicago and the Los Angeles County Museum of Art.

People are invited to choose fifty masterworks of American Art by voting at Then, the artwork reproductions will be exposed this summer, during four weeks, in iconic locations such as Times Square, Sunset Boulevard and Route 66.

This initiative is a good way to reach a broader audience and pick their curiosity for American art by making it more accessible. Moreover, the use of social media reinforces the audience commitment. Some people may think that this initiative could demean art, nevertheless it remains an original and fun way to celebrate American art.
